Artist Biography & Facts
Andre Borderie

Andre Borderie (1923 - 1998) is known for Painting and sculpture.

André Borderie fully devoted himself to creating art in 1946, after meeting the sculptors Véra and Pierre Székély.  With his wife and these two friends by his side, he turned to painting and ceramics.  Pieces from this period indeed bear their joint signatures.

In 1955, Borderie joined group Espace which sought to promote art within urban environments.  Borderie shifted his focus to artistic architectural creations, including monumental sculptures, fountains, low reliefs, and more.

The sculpture is an example of the lyrical abstraction which characterized the artist's work throughout his career.  Borderie participated in furnishing a number of private homes.  It is worthy of note that this type of piece seldom appears on the market.
